Meet Chris Sperber
I was born and raised here on Long Island and have been a resident of Suffolk County for 37 years. I live in West Babylon and am a divorced, single father of a daughter, Lily, in grade school. My interest in American History, government and the U.S. Constitution began at an early age. I grew up in a blue-collar family. Teaching me the value of hard work, new ideas, and a “nothing is impossible” attitude, my parents were small business owners of local hockey store.
I am a graduate of St. Anthony’s High School and Stony Brook University. After graduating from Stony Brook, I worked for the Sherwin-Williams Paint Company as a management trainee. While working there, I put myself through graduate school at St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue. I would graduate with a Masters in Business Administration. At Sherwin – Williams, I worked my way up the ranks eventually becoming a store manager, where I learned the importance of generating revenue while reducing expenses to create a balanced budget.
Having successfully completed the Court Officers Academy in 2015, I began a new career as a Court Officer for the New York State Court System. I worked in all parts of the court, including Family Court, Criminal Court, and Supreme Court. In this capacity, I learned the value of integrity, active listening, and conflict resolution. After just a few years, I was promoted to the position of Senior Court Clerk. In that role, I helped institute a new hybrid system during Covid. In addition, I played an integral role in the conversion of the courts data entry system. In this capacity, I sharpened my skills at a team leader and training. In April 2022, I was fired solely on the basis of not being vaccinated. Currently, I work in the family business.
